The Tale of Two Bad Mice
Once upon a time, in a lovely little house, there lived a sweet girl named Lucie. She had a beautiful doll’s house filled with tiny furniture, dishes, and even an adorable little kitchen. Lucie loved playing with her dolls and often invited her friends for tea parties.
One day, while Lucie was away, two bad mice named Tommy Brock and Tilly decided to pay a visit to the doll’s house. “Let’s see what mischief we can get into!” squeaked Tommy excitedly.
As they entered the doll’s house through a small hole in the wall, they were amazed by all the beautiful things inside. “Look at this lovely food!” exclaimed Tilly as she spotted some tiny plates filled with pretend cakes and sweets.
“Let’s eat!” said Tommy, rubbing his little paws together in delight.
But when they tried to nibble on the treats, they discovered everything was made from china or cardboard! “What a disappointment!” grumbled Tommy. “I thought it would be real food!” Feeling frustrated, Tommy had an idea. “Let’s have some fun! We can turn this doll’s house upside down!”
With that, the two mice began their rampage. They knocked over chairs, pulled down curtains, and even tipped over the tiny table set for tea. “This will teach them not to leave us without real food!” laughed Tilly as she joined in on the chaos.
Just then, Lucie returned home from her outing. She was shocked to find her beloved doll’s house in disarray! “Oh no! What has happened?” she cried out as she surveyed the mess.
Seeing Lucie’s distress made Tommy and Tilly pause for a moment. They peeked out from behind a chair and saw her sad face. “Maybe we’ve gone too far,” whispered Tilly.
“Perhaps we should fix it,” suggested Tommy reluctantly.
So, with great effort, the two bad mice put everything back in its place. They righted the chairs, tidied up the table, and even placed the dolls back where they belonged.
When they were finished, they scurried back to their hole just as Lucie entered the room again. To her surprise, everything looked neat and tidy once more! “Oh! How wonderful!” she exclaimed joyfully. “It must have been magic!”
Tommy and Tilly watched from their hiding place, feeling proud yet also realising that their mischief had caused unnecessary trouble. “Maybe we should be better mice,” said Tilly thoughtfully. “Yes,” agreed Tommy. “Let’s promise to be good from now on!”
From that day forward, Tommy Brock and Tilly learned that causing trouble only leads to sadness for others—and that being kind can bring happiness instead.
