The Goodnight Moon
In the great green room, there was a telephone, a red balloon, and a picture of—
his cosy room filled with soft light. He smiled as he took in all the familiar things that surrounded him.
“Goodnight, room,” he said softly.
“Goodnight, moon,” he continued, gazing up at the glowing moon visible through his window.
“Goodnight, cow jumping over the moon,” he added with a giggle, remembering the playful image.
“Goodnight, light,” he said, nodding at the lamp that cast a warm glow across his room.
“Goodnight, red balloon,” he whispered, watching it sway gently in the corner.
As he settled into bed, he looked around at all the things he loved. “Goodnight, bears,” he said to the stuffed animals sitting on his shelf.
“Goodnight, chairs,” he murmured, thinking of how many times they had been there during playtime.
“Goodnight, kittens,” he called out to the playful cats outside his window.
The little bunny continued to say goodnight to everything he could see—his books, his toys, and even the quiet old lady who was knitting nearby. “Goodnight, old lady,” he said softly.
He then turned his attention to the outside world. “Goodnight, stars,” he whispered as they twinkled brightly against the dark sky.
“Goodnight noises everywhere,” he added with a content sigh, feeling safe and snug in his bed.
As he closed his eyes, he felt peaceful, knowing everything was right in his little world. The gentle rhythm of his goodnights lulled him into a calm sleep, surrounded by love and warmth.
